Meet Maria Hogan, founder of TruWellness Acupuncture
At pivotal moments in life, passion finds its way to us, altering our world forever. Such was the case for Maria Hogan. Her fascination with Chinese Medicine was sparked by the remarkable healing effects she experienced following a car accident that left her with severe whiplash. When other treatments didn't help, she tried acupuncture for the first time and fell in love with it, igniting her passion for the practice.
Credentials & Education
Maria earned her Doctorate at Pacific College in San Diego, California and her Masters of Science at New York College of Health Professions in Syosset, NY, where she spent many years as a Professor and Supervisor to students in the Massage Therapy program. She has been a licensed massage therapist with over 20 years of experience.
Growing & Fostering Her Acupuncture Practice
Maria is passionate about sharing the healing benefits of Chinese Medicine, believing the body should be treated as a whole, and each person is as unique as their treatment plan will be.
Maria uses many modalities to treat various conditions such as sports injuries, pain management, fertility, digestive issues, stress and more. She is certified in Facial and Cosmetic Acupuncture as well as NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification).
Maria has always strived to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western medicine. She treats a variety of ailments including chronic pain, insomnia, digestive disorders, reproductive health/infertility and much more. With a deep respect for western medicine, she is constantly gathering information, knowledge and collaborating with other doctors to most efficiently treat her patients.
